Hi, I'm Prasun Bannerjee!

Thanks for coming up to this page. I won't really take long to introduce myself. I'm an optimistic guy who loves to code and design from Udaipur, Rajasthan (India). About me, Professionally

Background Story

Being born and brought up in the city of lakes, Udaipur, also known as the Venice of the East which is a prime global tourism destination in India, I completed my schooling from the same city and also my Bachelor of Technology in Computer Engineering from a reputed engineering college here.

Somehow, creativity and an eye for art and design was always in my genes. I was born with it. Got the bug of coding in my brain since my first encounter with computers in 10th standard of my schooling. Since then I have been exploring more and more horizons I could in these fields combined, gathering more and more knowledge and gaining experiences. In terms of knowledge and experience, I've never looked back

What all I've done to date

Things take a lot of time and patience, so did I in my learning phase, and still continue to learn as no one is perfect ever. During my professional journey, I've played a number of different roles that make me versatile as well as experienced in multiple domains. Read more in a little detail below

Winner at Prarambh - a 32 hour startup challenge/hackathon organized by IIM - Udaipur

March 2014

I did describe it in first place because it was the most challenging thing that happened to me. Until then, I was just a noob in Android and never made even a tiny app before, but it did took my proficiency to unimaginable levels. The national level event was held in Indian Institute of Management, Udaipur (IIM-U), one of the most prestigious management institutes in India. I was the main operative of the team 'Wedway' that stood the winner. The minimum viable product that was built in mere 32 hours was a full fleged cloud server based Android App for guest management.

Skills utilized: Android, php, Parse API, Adobe Photoshop

UdaipurBlog

2010 - Present

This one's somehow closest to my heart. A major chunk of my knowledge and experience comes through this alone. I joined the 'just freshly arrived' online media of my city, started by young students of Udaipur after I recovered from a severe accident to carve out a new niche. We never knew this could be 'that' big someday. I joined it as a photographer for online journalism, soon role extended towards writing articles, and soon to editing, designing, marketing, taking interviews (both recruitment and interviewing dignitaries for articles). Soon learned the new buzz called WordPress and became a helping hand at the tech end too. (startup culture, you have more roles due to a small team)

I literally have cherished and raised UdaipurBlog as my own startup, or rather, my own child. Soon with the combined team efforts, UdaipurBlog became the largest online media of Udaipur, creating a new culture. Many people followed us into our footsteps, but couldn't outperform us. The family has now grown to a larger team, with many more parallel ventures and at the point of writing, the Facebook fanpage consists of 125,000+ genuine likes. Shows the huge mark we left considering the size of the city.

Tons of Freelance Web Development

I am also comfortable with frameworks such as Zurb Foundation and Twitter Bootstrap. I won't boast that I was the best since day 1, but I have improvised a lot with passage of time.
